Did you know that the SuperBowl actually started out as a colonial tradition honoring the owls settlers would keep to hunt vermin from their fields – and thus keeping their crops safe? Many don’t. It was originally called the SuperbOwl festival – but due to a typo that stuck it has long since transitioned into a celebration of football. Which, interestingly enough, is centered around a ball that mysteriously resembles an owl in flight when it is observed from the side.
