– A cat is the main character of two Garfield movies and now a mainstream character that has basically become the modern Darth Vader

– Garfield, a talking cat who was at most a D-list comic strip character (maybe lower), is a household name and has had a scene in a Garfield movie where jumps on a couch and dances while listening to the Black Eyed Peas

– The Queen of England is part of the GCU, in a Garfield movie. We thought this was impossible and would never happen just four to five years ago.
There’s a scene that exists in a live-action movie of Garfield EATING LASAGNA AND HATING MONDAYS. That’s straight out of a comic strip.

– Marmaduke and Dennis the Menace will soon join the GCU in the years to come, making a near-complete Garfield Universe on screen.

– Jon Arbuckle, one of the biggest thing to ever happen in comics, something people said Jim Davis would never take the risk to do in a movie, was done in a movie.

This all started from one movie, Garfield, with a little tease at the end with Liz and Jon’s relationship. Not a single person could have guessed it would come this far. People thought the first Garfield would flop. “Too many characters to balance. Too much lasagna for one movie. It might as well just be a Monday.” That was 6 characters, countless lasagna, and so many Mondays ago. Now we have movies with 30+ characters, lasagna for every meal, without even acknowledging Mondays, and we don’t bat an eye.

This is truly the best timeline. I can’t believe the GCU exists.
