Hiding behind your computer screen, thinking that you can say whatever you want?

You, me, and everybody else on the Internet hides behind their username, an alias, making them anonymous. Usernames make people feel like they can say whatever they want without consequences. The worst that can really happen to them is a ban, so who cares right?

Wrong.

You don’t know how people are reacting on the other end of the screen. You don’t know if they’re laughing, rolling their eyes, getting angry, or even crying. You don’t know that, since you don’t know that person and can’t see them.

You’re a troll, I see that, and trolls are known to make the most offensive threads possible just to get people angry. But you know what? That doesn’t excuse your actions if you say something to somebody, and they take it to heart. I’ve had people in my life be called SO many different names, been labeled as SO many different things, that they started to believe it. I even know a couple people who were told over and over again by different people on the Internet to go kill themselves, and they attempted it.

While you’re laughing, somebody could be seriously hurt.

You probably don’t care, since you don’t know them, but would you care if you were the reason for somebody’s death? After that, you can’t use the “It was just a joke!” excuse. They’re life is over, it’s never coming back, and it was all because you decided to say something on the Internet.

I doubt that any African Americans would actually take your words to heart on this thread, but what about the next thread? And the next thread?

You can call me whatever you like, but you’re not gonna stop me from standing up against this racist bullcrap.
