You know, I used to like coming on Reddit to discuss things until people like you completely ruined it for me. I don’t object to you talking about a film or writing anything that’s thought provoking but what I do object to is basically pseudointellectism to try to say certain people shouldn’t watch films. Your great revelation is ‘it’s a metaphor!’ which is essentially like saying the Eiffel Tower is in Paris.

So not only is most of what you say utterly redundant – which I don’t mind – it’s patronising and vile really to be so arrogant to try to say that some films aren’t for other people but are OK for you because of your staggering intellect.

Not that it matters so much, but I work in academia, I have an undergraduate degree, a postgraduate degree and my IQ was assessed by British Mensa in person to be something you most likely wouldn’t believe. I read the wikipedia entry for the film prior to watching it, and to be honest the reason I write all of this is because what you’ve written has bothered me so much because it’s vile.

Films should be for everyone. You don’t need a certain intellect, a level of language, there’s no qualifying criteria. To suggest otherwise is elitist and pretty much forms the basis for a lot of other – and patently evil – discrimination that exists worldwide.

I won’t be reading your reply as not only do I not give a shit what you have to say, but I just think it will be worthless from what you’ve written above and the judgements you make about people.

What you write is so fucking obvious it’s laughable.
