I had a dream. Not a nightmare, but one of those dreams that make you feel anxious. I was walking through a long dark hallway, with nothing but a flashlight. The walls were made of bricks, with skulls and chains installed and engraved into the walls with random intervals.

I notice the walls have started to increasingly feature bones and skulls in the place of bricks, chains installed into the walls that are attached to detached bones, and paintings featuring crude depictions of humans, skeletons, and symbolic references to dying.

I continued walking, with my anxiety and fear slowly growing, I continue further into the darkness. I gasp, as I hear footsteps that grow more and more rapid in tempo with each step. I start running, and soon I notice the walls and the ceiling are now completely formed of skulls and bones. I scream in fear, and I stumble on an assumably misplaced part of the floor.

Then, I fall into a deep dark pit about four meters long and the width of the entire hallway, that I hadn’t seen when I had my flashlight on it. I fell, I lost my sense of direction, and I felt my screams being consumed by the everlasting void.

Then, I see light, light that ever increasingly continues to grow around me. I feel myself sitting down and I feel like I’m moving. I see that I’m in the midst of a forest path, and I’m bound to a moving carriage with three other men. Then, a strong but gentle voice adresses me and I look his way. He says; “Hey, you! You’re finally awake!”
