Posting on my friends account since I don’t have myself. I have been in a wheelchair the last 3 years since I got into a major sporting accident, ever since the accident, I couldn’t walk due to something I medically can’t describe because I’m not a doctor. Just 5 minutes ago I was playing Mario tennis aces on my friends switch, he decided to force me to play the motion control version of the game. 2 sets in, I was waluigi, defending the set, he had advantage and I was 1 point away from losing, since I was previously played sports, I am naturally competitive, wanting to prove that my disability won’t hold me down, I fought with all my might.

Let me Segway a bit from this story and tell you that the last 3 years have been difficult for me, stressing at the fact I am bound to a wheelchair and the limited freedom I now experience, I lost interest in things that resembles sports or competition.

Cut back to now 10 minutes ago, the most intense game of virtual tennis I have ever played, I knew i had to win no matter what, my friend smiling knowing he got what it takes to win, we are rally back and forth, I counter a fast ball with a cross court drop shot, he barely got it and returned with a flat ball. I know i couldn’t do very much so I responded with a flat shot back, he decided to do a slow shot back, but because he was not in the right spot, it went up and gave me an opportunity to respond, I knew that was my chance, I reached my hand up as high as it could, but I knew I need a bit more height to make the perfect smash, i mustered myself, my mind playing eye of the tiger, I knew that this is it, my only chance, I began to reach higher and higher, as I slowly rose from my wheel chair, and delivered the perfect shot, a SMASH! It was perfect! I got the point and defended the game! DEUCE says the announcer.

His win taken away from him in a split second, I’m feeling good! As I turned to him cheering, he served the ball…. I wasn’t ready, I was ecstatic that I defended the advantage, I forgot the game was still going on. ACE! I looked back at the game, puzzled, I was thinking what was going on… he served again, I’m still bewildered at the fact I could be face with defeat, my heart wasn’t in it, I slowly sat back down on my wheelchair as he delivered a smashing serve… ACE!

And just like that, I lost the game, and my will to stand.

The switch cured me! I was able to stand and yet, I am again cursed as I sat here.. lost…

I may not reply since this is my friends account! You just have to believe me that I can now walk again… the switch saved me and my life!
