It is a considerable possibility. Many, but not all, eschewed thoughtful discourse, unfortunately missing many opportunities to “come to the knowledge of the truth” (1 Timothy 2:4). Here is what John 3:19-21 states about this behavior: “This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposed. But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what they have done has been done in the sight of God.” When the comments were enabled, the disparaging retorts were often overwhelming. Feeling some minimal level of shame for their behavior, they prolifically resorted to “anonymous” posts, because, as the passage states, they “fear that their deeds will be exposed”. This was a good forum for the non-believers to get an opportunity to question and debate why God created them, why they are here, and what they must do to be saved.
