Ight niggas, there’s been some speculation about how America, currently the #1 superpower on Earth, might fall down to second to China, or third to Russia. I say that is complete and utter bullshit. So far this has been just me voicing my opinion however, I do have the facts to support this on many levels. I will focus on three major aspects regarding what I think are the most important parts of a superpower, in my educated opinion on the topic. These two major topics will be Military strength, Spending. Many people would argue that the military strength is the only thing that matters when being ranked as a superpower i strongly disagree. All ‘colors of the power spectrum’ have to be well fulfilled. Due to the factors I will present, I strongly believe that the USA can maintain its status as the #1 superpower for the next 50 years and beyond.

The first aspect that will be covered will be Military Strength this will be divided into two subcategories: Ground/infantry and Air. First in line being Ground/Infantry. Its widely accepted that the US military is ahead of the competition, but not by much. However, many analysis’ of, arguably one of the most important strategic units in all the military, their MBT (Main Battle Tank) shows that the competition has quite some catching up to do. Firstly, we will compare the M1 Abrams, and its variants, against the likes of the T-90 (Russias MBT) and the Type-99 (China’s MBT). We will start off by comparing the turret compartment of these three tanks. The first advantage the M1, M1A1, M1A2, and M1A3 Abrams variants have over all these tanks is Space. Not many people realize that the internal space, and the management of the space, of a tank is possibly the most important part when designing an MBT. The more space, the better. The more space you can put in between your tank’s crew members, the safer they will be from the impacts of shells. Modern tank shells are not just hunks of metal, no no no. what you see on the outside (the metal skin) is very thin and carries a deadly payload beneath the skin. When modern shells impact the surface of a tank the outer, metal shell, penetrates the armor (depending where you hit) and unloads/disperses that payload in many directions, inside of the tank. APFSDS shells (Armour-piercing fin-stabilized discarding sabot shell) are shells most used by T-90’s as they’re highly accurate and also has insane penetration. Now if you can put a good amount of space in between your crew (which the abrams accomplishes handedly) you reduce the chances of multiple, or even one, crew members dying to the payload carried by the APFSDS shell. This has been proven by the utterly absurd K/D “Of the 1,848 Abrams tanks then sent to Iraq, only 18 were disabled or destroyed – all by landmines, operational mishaps” – New York Times. Consider that, in the modern era with other MBT’s fighting against it, not one of the 1,848 tanks dies to enemy fire. The gun. The T-90 and Type-99 both tie the abrams here however, the abrams’ barrel is a smooth bore. This allows for the ammunition to be more accurate, account for the best stabilizer ever mounted on a tank, and it is clear who wins in a ranged engagement. Now, you can have the best tank in the world, dominate ground battles but, you will still be susceptible to CAS (Close Air Support) or outright bombs. This is where the USA still starts to shine as this is where no other country can match it currently. The F22A, F35A (heavy Air ordinance) ,B (VTOL),C (Carrier) come into play. The F22 currently outmatches everything any other army has. While the plane has a 44 foot wingspan, a 62 foot length, a height of 16 feet, and a Wing area of 840 square feet, the RCS, Radar Cross Section (how large or small an entity appears on radar) of the F22 is 0.0003 feet or about 20 times smaller than a bee. Radars are programmed to filter objects of that size out therefore, making it invisible to radar. Now the F35 is believed to be about 1.5 times less stealthy than the F22, however it is still incredibly small. This, coupled with the F22’s ability to carry Guided bombs and rockets, makes it a deadly CAS aircraft. The F35 on the other hand can carry a 25mm autocannon/ minigun which can punch through the top of tanks like a wet tissue through paper. “Oh well the f22 can’t be any good in air comb-” WAIT THERE’S MORE. The F22 and F35 both have TV (Thrust vectoring) allowing them to turn tighter than most aircraft. Coupled with the highest TWR (Thrust to Weight Ratio) of any aircraft ever (1.35 LBF or pounds of thrust per pound of weight), allows it to dictate any engagement it gets into. If it even gets to that point. You see the F22 was meant to be a BVR (Beyond Visual Range) engagement aircraft. It carries missiles that will hit you from a MGIR (Minimum Guaranteed Intercept Range) of 120 miles. “In the video above, we see one single F-22 Raptor, in all her glory, take on five F-15s in a combat training dogfight. The results are pretty incredible, even for a fighter as advanced as the F-22 Raptor.” I rest my case. They will not be dethroning us in physical power anytime soon to say the least.

On the topic of the military I am going to take a look at how the military is funded and by just how much. Given all this advanced technology supplied into weapons of war the budget has to be big, Very Big. $700 billion big. And that’s just in one year. Now some Analysts say that the money spent on the military is absolutely absurd. This is one of the only parts I somewhat agree with. China and Russia combined only spend about ⅓ of the USA, combined that is. However, our superiority in the air and on the ground does show why that budget is so damn big in the first place. It also gives us room to experiment, some of which have gone bad, and some which have made the competition obsolete. “Back in 2004, the Army reportedly spent $5 billion to create and manufacture a new uniform with an improved camouflage pattern that would blend in anywhere. The result was the massively unpopular pixelated camouflage that literally did the opposite of its goal and had soldiers feeling like they were actually standing out. The Army ended up having to buy new uniforms.” This is an example of the US military experimenting and finding out the things that don’t work. It ‘Only’ cost them $5 billion dollars, which is absolutely nothing compared to the budget. And then there are mistakes: “Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld once publicly admitted that the Pentagon lost track of 2.3 trillion dollars and cannot tell us how it was spent.” that’s just ridiculous yet, they didnt even fucking care because that still didnt cripple them in the long run. 2.3 trillion dollars is the GDP of Turkey + $200 billion. And we just wen “whoops idk how that happened lol, anyway…” Needless to say that if any country challenges us, we have the money to research and develop weapon systems or structures to fend them off and gain the edge in tech.

So, uh, what have we learned in these 5 ‘valuable’ minutes of reading. Well we learned that in the event of a war, we are prepared, more than prepared to face most adversaires, some even at the same time. The technology edge we have on the enemy is so far that we really don’t need to worry about it for the next 10 years. Not to say that we should stop advancing though, we don’t want them to have the advantage over us, especially in a war. In the unlikely event that they do catch up though, we have the budget to, not only, quickly catch up but then, surpass them again. In conclusion: GOD BLESS AMERICA
