Bruh what if in anime the start of the episode where they spend 3 minutes recapping the last episode, wasn’t them trying to waste time because they don’t have enough content, but an intentional storytelling technique. Like they would have just animated the whole thing again if they couldn’t use the footage from other episodes because they care about doing it that much. And the intro song is also an intentional plot device. All the spoilers contribute to the audience feeling that this isn’t a one off movie they’re a part of, but instead a grand saga, one the audience only has the privilege of witnessing. Could you imagine if every episode was so meticulously planned that stuff we consider filler was as integral a part of the storytelling process as the animation itself?
