Yeah, Aiku is right, these people are generally really insecure (who has the time or energy to really care about someone else trying to improve themselves?) But I’m with you on that. I was hanging out with this gymnast girl and we were doing a pool workout and were doing some shallow-water sprints, I said “don’t watch my boobs bounce, this isn’t Baywatch” (I’m a guy). It cracked her up. Part of it may have come from the fact that I used to be an Abercrombie floor model and cage fight, so I know what I’m capable of (just let myself go after a breakup and subsequent very long depression), but I’m ok laughing at myself. I know that I’m about 40lbs overweight, and it’s my fault. It’s ok to laugh while you’re knocking it down. But again, I have confidence some of these other people may not have, so if he/she overheard the oreo comment, that may have really hurt. I would have turned the treadmill up to 9mph if they would have gone through with it.
