It all began in the year 2012. What you may ask? Well like all good stories it’s easiest if I just start from the beginning…

I was walking down the street to buy a quiche, from Asda (like I do every Saturday 1pm) but then I saw a strange silhouette stare at me out of the corner of my eye. I feel drawn to the figure as if a higher power is guiding me to it. As I drew closer I started to make out the finer details of the being. A green pale hue surrounded its large masculine body.

The figure towered over me yet for some strange reason i had never felt so safe in my life.

It whispered in my ear with a warm, soft voice “Please help me I’m the last of my people and they want my life.”

We continued down the road and entered what appeared to be its home. A large oak tree with a door carved into its roots with a hollowed out trunk as a chimney. Outside stood a small brown outhouse with a creasant moon carved into it.

“What can I do to help?” I said neverously but eagerly. “I need you to lie on this table for me. ” it instructed. I was scared for my life but never the less felt the urge to help. Shaking, I got up onto the table and felt my eyes drift shut.

As he extracted his tools, I felt a sharp but relaxing sensation course through my body, almost as if I could not feel any pain at all.

Loud chants and marching footsteps filled the air. “It’s time!” it exclaimed, gathering its belongings.

We rushed out the back door, narrowly escaping the death hungry mob. We walked for two days to a land far far away.

“This is where my wife and best friend were brutally murdered by that mob and they would have done the same to me, had we not have escaped.” it explained. “Is there nothing we can do to stop them?” I questioned. “Sadly not, ” it replied “but you can continue my legacy, I have injected you with my blood and in 30 years time you must inject your partner with my blood as well, this will produce new offspring of my species and save it from extinction.”

“What about you?” I worried with a single tear running down my cheek. It looked into my eyes and said “My fight is over, I trust you to save us.” I hugged him as he drove a knife into his own chest.

With his final breath he said “It’s all ogre now.”
