Anyone that exits 212 off I-75 can always remember exiting the expressway for a break or to get someting to eat. It’s the exit where the grass and weeds have grown four feet tall between a McDonald’s and a Tim Hortons. The ex-owner of McDonald’s, Judy Lezotte got the boot after her kid, Teddy, wrote a bunch of bad checks at the Pinconning McDonald’s. No lease renewal. In technical terms, no re-write. Out came the old boot. McDonald’s had enough. Good bye Lezottes. This lot is owned by Ms. Lezotte. With a sour taste in her mouth, she chooses not to cut the grass for reasons unknown to the sane. Forget about the fact she kept the lot meticulously maintained for the almost 40 years she owned the store. But back to the point: The township manager, Ryan Veeder sits on his patoot while deep throating a Big Mac and fries and could care less how high the grass grows between McDonald’s and Tim Hortons. He says “The grass and weeds look like the woods people expect when they visit West Branch, and maybe some deer will live there.” This sounds cute, but his job is to enforce blight and try to keep the township from looking like shit. Did I mention his live in girlfriend is the daughter of Ms. Lezotte’s secretary for 30+ years?
