To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand John Green. The ideas are extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of history most of the claims will go over a typical viewer’s head. There’s also the unbiased outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterization – his personal philosophy draws heavily from interdependent things. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the centuries that these things occurred over centuries, to realize that they’re not actually events that occurred- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike John Green truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn’t appreciate, for instance, the contextualization the producer’s existential catchphrase “Was the Renaissance a thing? Not really… it was a lot of mutually interdependent things that occurred over centuries,” which itself is a cryptic reference to historical things. I’m smirking right now just thinking about one of those unenlightened idiots scratching their heads in confusion as Berlin Wall falls. What fools… how I pity them. 😂 And yes by the way, I DO have a lil’ John. And no, you cannot see it. It’s for the ladies’ eyes only- And even they have to demonstrate that they’re within 5 mutually interdependent things of my own (preferably lower) beforehand.
