Interestingly I don’t think that the word “interesting” would exist in newspeak. Newspeak aimed to simplify grammatical syntax so pretty much all adjectives are created by taking a word and adding the -ful suffix, so it would be spelt “interestful” under these rules. But more than that, I think that the concept of “interest” in the context of “wanting to learn” would actually be a thought-crime (crimethink) since it promotes heterodox thought so I’m certain that newspeak would not even have the word “interesting” in the lexicon, instead mandating the use of either “good” or “crimethink” being used depending on the context.
