**Desert Bus is a flawless game**

 With the next generation graphics and smooth controls, it’s the best game to ever exist. The realism of driving 8 hours to Las Vegas, Nevada and back to Tucson, Arizona keeps you glued to your seat to see what will happen next in the rich storyline is something never seen or felt before.

It’s shocking to see that Desert Bus was only a small minigame that you could play and it wasn’t the entire game itself. Truly a terrible choice that had been made. They should fire that person who thought to crunch Desert Bus into a single minigame.

But anyway, what are the most notable things in Desert Bus? Well let’s begin with:

 * The beginning cutscene

You see Penn and Teller in a strange room that has spotlights and a desk behind those full of soda cans and a single keyboard. In the back you can see Teller looking at a TV monitor with a controller in his hands. What he seems to be doing is playing Desert Bus, something that we’ll be playing very very soon.

While the cutscene is not the most groundbreaking part of the game, it’s still very well done with great acting.

 * The screen before the drive

The high quality rock music playing in the background and the logo “Desert Bus” quickly fading in is something I’ve never seen before. It really gets you going before the real game starts.

You’re met with a wall, clock, sticky note, pin board, a map and a somewhat blinded window. Above the clock there’s a note where you can input your driver’s name and see your road time along with the points you’ve earned. Since you’ve just begun, you have zero points and time driven. When you’ve inputted your driver’s name, you can go straight to driving.

Now… What’s so good about the driving?

 * The controls

The super smooth and responsive controls are out of this world. They’re truly amazing. When you’re slowly drifting to the right side of the road, you can quickly turn back to the other side without instantly hitting the sand and getting a game over, which is something you’d never want at all when you’re playing a simulation or driving in real life. The controls are just super realistic and I just can’t get enough of them in any way. They work really well with the Sega controller.

Desert Bus has destroyed my enjoyment of the other games I’ve played and owned. After finishing writings this I’ll be throwing away every other SEGA CD game I have and will only keep Penn & Teller’s Smoke and Mirrors.

 * The scenery

Oh my god, the juicy stuff, the scenery.

The eye catching view that you see on the whole ride to and back. It’s mesmerizing to see and surprising how well it’s visualized on the SEGA CD. This is futuristic stuff. No one has ever been able to accomplish such things with the modern Sega hardware other than Desert Bus. The dirty sand on the edge of the road is never the same at all, it’s always different the entire 360 miles. I wish I could see the sand swirling behind me when I pass it. The insides of the bus also looks super cool.

The scented tree hanging on the rear view mirror and spinning with next gen physics is mind-blowing. You can also see the back of the bus that’s full of seats but also completely empty.

Next to the mirror is the driver’s name just in case you forget the person’s name who’s driving.

Now while in the driver’s seat, you see the speedometer spinning clockwise when going faster.

Right behind the speedometer is the steering wheel that spins in real time as you control the bus. While not the first to do such things, they’re definitely the ones to make it the best to ever exist.

Right next to the steering wheel you see the counter that counts the amount of miles you’ve driven so you know how much is left to drive.

Now next to that is the digital clock so you don’t lose track of time if that’s even important to you, since the only game you should be playing is Desert Bus.

 * The end

After finishing your multiple hour drive, you get rewarded one astounding point for the dedication you had for the drive. You get to feel the satisfactory accomplishment coursing through your veins. I can’t explain such a feeling for the life of me.

 Now these were my reasons to why Desert Bus is an awesome, incredible, shocking, stunning and amazing game. There is no score to give for this because it’s way beyond the range of scoring such a masterpiece. I recommend everyone to play this game. I guarantee getting addicted and playing forever.
