It was a normal Wednesday afternoon at home. I was sitting in a chair while reading a good book called ‘The Hunger Games’. I already saw the movie, but I remember, I thought ‘Wow, the book is so much better’. During the story my attention got bigger and when I finished the book, I could not let it go. I kept thinking about some situations that really looked like the real world.

The Hunger Games is written with a background message, it clearly criticise American Society. The main criticism is about increasing gap between the rich and the poor

The great leader, president Snow, wants to show who is in charge by humiliating the citizens. This could refer to certain power games world leaders play every day on the back of the hard working civilian.

In my opinion the writer, Suzanne Collins, is a kind of a hypocrite, because “Although The Hunger Games engages in similar social critiques to the novel, the PR, marketing and economics of the film’s production seem contradictory to its core-capitalist message.” I am sure she has not declined the big amount of money she made out of these books.
