Alright to begin my statement on best girl/bride of Fuutaro, I would like to go over his options and opportunities. The options include all 5 of the individual quintuplets, the oldest Ichika, the second oldest Nino, the third is Miku, the fourth is Yotsuba and the youngest being Itsuki. Now the authors/directors made an attempt at giving all of them equal screen-time and chances with Fuutaro to keep an open ending for the story and let the viewer use their imagination to finish it off or even continue it. A side note is this is a very good effect given by the creators as it includes the viewers even more and made it more immersive. To get back in to my review I would like to state how although there was evidently a lot of effort put into the animation and plot, I believe they screwed up quite significantly with the amount of opportunity given to Yotsuba. Because of how they designed Yotsuba, I believe the creators intended for her to be the least picked (she was very much like a tomboy but at the same time wasn’t). Now with Yotsuba’s personality and way of dressing this took her off the list almost immediately as proven by the statistics of best girl choices by this anime’s fandom. Not only this anime’s fandom but also the entire community combined would have most likely picked any other one as the others have more feminine qualities and traits to them which makes them more appealing to the male side of the viewers.
Now onto Ichika, she was very suitable for the marriage position with Fuutaro, she made it into a decent amount of screen-time and the developers would constantly hint at the fact that she was attracted to him but also mature enough to have an understanding that he is her teacher and it would be unethical/inappropriate to date or develop an intimate relationship with him. Now Ichika was also an obviously pretty character and helped with character development for my final choices.
For Nino, she as with Itsuki, had very litlle screen-time in comparison to the other characters. They also made her a very unlikable character throughout almost all the episodes, to backup my statement you can go to 13:20 of episode 5 during the firework scene you can see the lack of affection expressed towards Fuutaro from Nino. Now although I only stated one piece of evidence, I still believe the viewers will understand my point and more evidence would frankly be unnecessary.
Finally Miku and Itsuki are going to share a section. They both in my opinion deserve to be best girl. Miku got a mediocre amount of screen-time and showed a large amount of attraction towards Fuutaro from near the beginning of the series. This was a major turning point for the influence that was expressed by her throughout the entire series as the others had really not done anything other than compete for screen-time meaning she had an early advantage. Now although all the other characters were given more screen-time than her, I am still contemplating whether Miku or Itsuki should be best girl. Itsuki was picked out many times throughout these other reviews and comments meaning that others would agree that the few moments that she had on-screen were very influential which creates even more of a bias shown by the creators.
To be honest in conclusion it most definitely has to be either Miku or Itsuki. Some more evidence to back up my statement is each wedding scene, the bride obviously has medium length red hair which cuts out Yotsuba, Nino and Ichika. Now with only Miku and Itsuki left in the competition I am led to believe it is Itsuki due to her screen time and also for the fact that she was direct middle of the screen at 23:54 in the last episode. Finally at the very beginning at 1:00 into the episode they show that out of the quintuplets, Itsuki is the first to meet him. Thank you for considering my input and I hope I get backed up on my statement.
