Did you know the Panini was invented by a man in Riga, Italy by the name of Georgio Panini? He was a printer in the 1870s during a rough period in Italy’s history. He was hungry one day but all he had was some miscellaneous scraps, some bread, and his printing press. Being that he was especially hungry and the scraps put together in a sandwich wouldn’t fit, he decided to run it through his printing press so make it more compact. The result was delicious and made famous all over Italy. Originally being run through a printing press, leftover ink would be on the Panini not only making you not only able to eat your sandwich, but also read up on the latest news. It also added an interesting zest.
