From the creative and artistic stand point, you may be correct, but i still don’t like it when people call JB untalented when that is clearly not the case.
But i am also form the school of thought that believes art is 100% subjective when it comes to how much enjoyment comes from it. If a young girl hears a JB song and Beatles song, and for argument’s sake, we can measure the amount of enjoyment she had for each, she may very well get more enjoyment out of the JB song. If this is the case, then to this girl, JB is more talented (if we are saying enjoyment implies talent which i will argue to my death).
As the general argument always goes, if doing what JB does takes 0 talent, then anyone and everyone should do be able to do what he does, especially because the payoff for doing what JB does in terms of money is so high.
Since this is not the case, then it must be the case JB has something that not everyone else has. I define what ever “this” is, to be talent.
One more thing. It can be argued JB is also a landmark artist. He is one of the first from youtube to mainstream stars. If we are talking numbers, he does them big from album sales to concerts to movies (although i believe we did see a decline, but these numbers are still huge). So even if you want to get empirical, the numbers back it up that JB is landmark.
