Hey dude, I’d be cautious comparing male circumcision to female genital mutilation. It’s absolutely true that boys should get a choice over what their genitals look like and I absolutely agree with you that parents shouldn’t do that to their babies and it can affect sensitivity, but there’s no comparison to the severity FGM. It’s like comparing getting pepper sprayed by the cops to being gassed in WW1. A closer comparison would be if they cut your dick off so you couldn’t feel sexual pleasure, cut up your crotch and held it together so it fuse as it healed, and sewed up your anus so it feels tighter when a guy fucks you up the ass and he’ll know for sure if you’d been fucked before. This would make it very difficult to go to the bathroom and put you at risk for infections your whole life long, let alone difficulty in making a child, but maintaining your “purity” is seen as much more important than maintaining your actual health. Oh, and make sure to do it to an older child so they’re old enough to associate their genitals with pain. Again, I agree with you that circumcision is an issue that should be addressed, and it is wrong to cut up a baby’s body for aesthetic reasons, but comparing it to FGM can affect how terrible people perceive FGM to be.
