Smoke’s war crime…

Many of us know Smoke, one of the most balanced operators in the esteemed game Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege. Smoke’s arsenal includes 3 gas canisters which deal damage to anyone who steps into their radius. They allow him to stop rotations due to the damage and can be pivotal to the success of a round. However, I believe that smoke is in direct contradiction of the Geneva Protocol. The Geneva Protocol was signed in 1925 and was made as a result of the weapons used in World War I. World War I saw the use of many new weapons, one including mustard gas. Mustard gas, otherwise known as sulfur mustard, is a chemical agent that would cause severe burning of the skin and eyes when in contact. The gas would cause immense suffering among those affected and was outlawed at the end of the war because it was uncivilized to use. However, I believe that smoke also uses a gas which causes asphyxiation. I think this because as soon as your operator makes contact with the gas, the game plays a breathing sound effect, almost like you are gasping for air. The gas could even be sulfur mustard itself as it has the same coloration. This would be in direct violation of the Geneva Protocol, and as such, would be counted as a war crime.
