In the past on this subreddit and other subreddits I have come across users who are soul searching to find where they can find a SO that shares the same values of financial independence, budgeting, and investing together. Those of you who have a SO who you can talk to about money matters and retiring early, count yourselves incredibly lucky to be with someone who can be on the same page you are on.

I decided I am going to work on a side project for a dating app to find financially like-minded people called FinLit Dating. Short for Financial Literacy dating, where you can find people who have a passion for their own financial future and hopefully even start a relationship together. An dating app focused around where people can match together if they are interested in having 1-on-1 conversations with a potential SO to talk about real estate planning, retirement planning, credit card churning, vacation planning, budgeting, investing, and other financial plans right off the bat.

One thing I wanted to ask from you all here is that I do need your help getting started. Is there anything you want to see in this financially-oriented dating app that you don’t find in a regular dating app? Something like matching people based on if they want financial independence or if they want help with their budget, or only if they are saving up for a vacation? Right now I want to add chats on the big financial topics that are active here on reddit, and possibly even a tier-based profile system that has people take a financial literacy quiz and based on your quiz score, you get put in to Novice, Proficient, or Advanced tiers and you get matched with others who scored similarly or above to you.

Let me know! I would really like to pursue this as a side project and any input you have can help me make a more compelling dating app.
