The sweeeetest part of my summer (except for when we accidentally broke up for ten days). He gets that look from me a lot.
At the beginning of summer I was lamenting about how icky all of the guys I’ve dated have been in the last year to Sarah Edwards and she had a come to Jesus meeting with me and said “find yourself a nerd, Kelsey. You think you want this wild passionate creative hustler like yourself but I’ve been there. I’ve had that. That’s all cool but you know what’s better? Consistency.” So I took her advice and gave my dads dreams of me dating an engineer a shot and I promise you Sarah was the most right she’s ever been about anything in her entire life (and she’s rarely wrong). Tony may have played PlayStation before we went out while I got ready last night (true story) but he also had my favorite Greek / Afghani food waiting for me when I got done teaching last night and you can’t put a price on that kind of thoughtfulness. Hes the kind of guy that pulls me off stage and doesn’t let me be a star. In fact early into dating I was throwing a 25 year old tantrum when I wasn’t getting my way and sassy pants K told him “whatever, don’t screw this up, I’m the best catch either of us know.” And he responded with “Yes, you are, but I’ve got things going for me too.” WOOOOOOH. A man that can call me out in a way that’s still kind? Mama NEEDS. The last thing on earth I want is a partner who can’t call me out and keep me humble. He’s new to this whole “girlfriend” thing but I told him in the last 11.5 hours that he’s been my official boyfriend he’s done a really good job because he doesn’t have girlfriends in Fargo, he doesn’t like bringing girls that aren’t me to Miami, he isn’t secretly married and he’s the most genuine person I know. He passed the Fran Thring and Ashley Marie Wailani friendship tests too so now we can make this thing public.
