simping: treatment toward the preferred sex that is both (1) favoritist and (2) deferential/servile — usually for romantic or sexual attraction — which the simp would not exhibit, under normal conditions, to a typical person.

deference matters more than favoritism. the essence of simping is in demeaning or lowering yourself. when words are used in secondary or tertiary contexts they’re used in their more atomic forms, such as how “wingcucked” as a suffix takes “cucked” to mean “constrained by” independent of sexual connotation. when someone says you’re simping for a corporation, they mean you’re playing into the corporation’s game; you’re a fool – a chump – a person who has been taken advantage of. simping is lowering yourself in ways you wouldn’t normally approve of because of a temporary/fleeting attraction.

simping is a civilizational problem. it affects men and women — there is the archetype of women simping for men who treat them like shit — but the primary association is with men. simping becomes an issue because it causes a person to abandon their sense of scale, or their sense of their priorities, or their everyday reasonableness were their decisions to be judged by a jury of their peers. simping causes one to lose perspective and make bad decisions.

put differently, a woman seducing a rich man is still one of the ways that billions of dollars can trade hands independent of market pressure. it’s the basis for entire industries. it’s the origin of corruption scandals and harassment scandals and affairs. previously drama-free friendships and social groups become battlegrounds when simping starts.

if shareholders of a company are going to worry about the effects of drug use on a CEO’s mindset, they should also worry about the effects of simping – and of lack of sleep, but that’s another topic entirely. simping has at least as powerful of an effect on judgment as mild drug use. it should be cause for concern, and is not nearly as stigmatized as it is.

stop simping.
