yesterday me and my friend were psychoanalyzing reasons for hostility towards lesbians. i think i came up with a pretty good theory. in essence, I have a purely hierarchical view of relationships, where I always play a protective/masculine role. although I am bisexual and equally attracted to both men and women, I am more attracted to feminine personalities, out of a desire to protect or aid them in some form. at this point, a solid worldview should emerge from within this. firstly, gays and straights shall be viewed in a non-competitive action, as they do not threaten my hierarchy. the same thing goes for straight men – even though they may “remove females” from the market, and have no ability to be attracted to me, they reaffirm my hierarchical view that femininity requires subjugation. this is where lesbianism comes in. it is entirely subversive. it threatens my hierarchy, as it is proof femininity does not need masculinity to survive. due to this, i feel excessively threatened by the existence of lesbians.
