I’m sorry but no, you cannot say “Miata” if you are not a Miata owner

I’ve been noticing a recent trend in this subreddit where users have been pointing to things like *(trigger warning)* horsepower, lap times, and 0-60 times when comparing sports cars. You know exactly who I’m talking about. This type of person probably drives a C5 corvette, 996, or—even worse—a modern performance car that hasn’t fully depreciated yet. This is truly a spectacular level of idiocracy we’re dealing with here.

These people are really out here pushing prejudices against what they call “slow” or “under-powered” cars. Those aren’t real words. Try to find them in a dictionary; they don’t exist. Those terms were fabricated to push their horsepower agenda.

I have a name for the type of people who care only about the acceleration, braking, lateral grip, and other general racing metrics. The name for these “racing enthusiast” is racists, and lately I’ve been noticing an increasingly large number of these racists throwing around the m-word with complete disrespect for the history and heritage of the Miata. I will not stand for it. I have watched over 7,000 hours of dubbed Hentai and respect and understand the history of jinba ittai in a way that these horsepower supremacists never will.

Now I can ignore the blatant disrespect and racism to an extent, but I recently read something that had completely crossed the line. If you have anger issues, I recommend that you stop reading here. The user said, “IDK why anyone would get a **Miater** when the s2k is literally the same thing but with more power.” Can you believe this ignorant piece of trash really said the m-word with a hard r! I’m not even going to get into how factually incorrect his comment is. I reported his comment 7 hours ago and it is still viewable, and the user still has not been banned.

This is a call-out to all the mods on this subreddit—step your game up. The blatant racism here has to stop, and it makes my blood boil that no one seems to be doing anything about it.
