All right, before you get all pissed at me for putting up this web page, I want you to know one thing. I started this page one afternoon because I just got sick and tired of all the hype. I can’t seem to get away from people who are constantly talking about storm troopers and tie fighters and arguing over the construction methods used in completing the death star. Even on CNN, the normally stodgy anchors seem almost giddy every time they get the latest trailer packed full of special effects sequences designed to brainwash me into mindlessly handing over my hard earned money to see yet another version of the same old film. The fact that some people actually pay full admission prices just to see the trailer, really makes me wonder about the kind of people that live in this country. Of course, Titanic started a similar craze, but at least it was only teenage girls that seemed to be fooled. It seems like almost everyone has been sucked in this time.

If I expected the new Star Wars to be a decent movie, maybe my attitude would be different, but based on previous efforts from the Lucasfilm camp, it seems I can expect just another mindless mix of boring action, inane dialog, and flat characters. All of this, of course, has been designed with the aim of selling the maximum possible number of model tie fighters, Luke Skywalker action figures and, let’s not forget, movie tickets. I’m sure every brainwashed Star Wars fan out there will just die at the opportunity to fork out hundreds of dollars to go see the same movie twenty times. Just like they were perfectly willing to hand over the cash when the original trilogy was released in about thirty different formats. Wake up people! You’re being victimized!
