A lot of people also don’t realize that people can become racist from traumatic experiences. when I was 14 I went to Seattle for my birthday with a group of friends all 14-16, while walking by the Sheraton hotel we ran into a group of black guys in their mid 20s. They asked us what we were doing and started a convo with us, they seemed very nice and respectful when all of a sudden they said, “you little white n\*\*\*ers are in the wrong place” then we just stood there confused and shocked then one of them hit me harder than I’ve ever been hit and broke my jaw and called me a white pos, while I was on the ground they knocked my other friend out while they were kicking me saying all white people should die. Calling us every possible hateful word about white people. They took a gun and put it against my other friends head the only one they didn’t assault and made my friend take all our stuff at gun point to rob us.
Now I am not a racist but that experience was absolutely shocking. I never thought a white person could be the victim of a hate crime but after that day if I ever see one of those men again I will most likely shoot them, and is one of the reasons why I carry a 44 now days. But back to the point my 2 others friends to this day are very racist towards black people. This world can be pretty cruel.
Edit* thanks to the people being cool! Reddit can be a beautiful place sometimes <3
