Heh. They don’t like the rebuttal that “we can afford automatics here.” Fuel, the automatic transmission car, and all the other associated costs are higher there.

And I dare ’em to take me on driving stick. I learned that shit young. Drove dad’s little truck, my first car (Honda) was manual, my next car (Miata) was manual. 1st wife had a hot little Volkswagen TDI that was manual. I can drive stick like a fucking rally driver.
But I don’t *have to*, because I can afford a nice automatic.

And while I’m bragging & self-jerking, my Audi and now the Mercedes (both wonderful Euro-brands) *both* have a semi-manual option if I want to play around and pretend…

Just more biased superior ignorance of how things actually are…as I always countered the smug superior comments from those of my friends from Europe while they are here working…if it’s so great back home…*why are you here in the U.S.?*

And yet another edit: And I *love* Europe generally, I’ve been there many times. Studied abroad in Italy. Studied abroad in Romania. Been to Berlin *before the wall fell*, went *right after*. Saw Pink Floyd play The Wall at The Wall the first time they did it. Um, we go to the U.K. at least once a year. I drive *there*, and I’m the dumb ‘merkin. It’s different, but of course we can do it. And I drove a ton, all over the country. Drove all over Spain too. I love so much about Europe. There’s plenty of jerking to go around on both sides of the pond. Don’t put all the h8 on me, m8.
