Biggie Cheese, the rapping rat that you all know today, gained popularity in 2006 after the release of the movie Barnyard. Before the movie, he was already known as “Mr. Steal Yo Girl”, or the “guy she told you not to worry about”. But after the movie featured him rapping his debut hit “Mr. Boombastic,” he turned ultra-famous in a matter of seconds. Because he has made so much money and gained so much fame and popularity from this hit single, he has not yet released another album. A rumoured mixtape, “Back at the Barnyard” is expected to arrive soon. Before his musical career, Biggie Cheese was a renowned Vietnam War Veteran. He was wounded in combat after single-handedly saving his entire combat unit in 1972. He has 420 confirmed kills. Cheese, being awarded a Purple Heart medal and a commemoration from President Richard Nixon.

After the events, Biggie Cheese suffered from P.T.S.D. and he could not live with this life anymore. After numerous suicide attempts, he cleaned up his act and decided that music was the answer. He first started freestyling with some beats given to him by his former sergeant Mickey “The Exterminator” Mouse.

He stated – in the 2006 interview “Behind the Cheese” with MTV – that his music is heavily influenced by his life. He stated that his tour in Afganistan has inspired many of his hard-hitting and deep rhythmic patterns and that some of the more complex chord changes (such as the C sharp major to the C double flat minor flat five) are meant to represent not only the duality of man but also the gruelling reality of war.

He also takes heavy influence from his first public relationship with Sherie Williams. It is known that this border-line abusive relationship ended with a bang and left a great mark on Mr. Cheese. In his defence statement, he told juries that: “I’mma neva’ be da’ same again ya’. I luv’d’a an’ she straight up lied to ma’ face!”

He released his first mixtape in 2002, self-titled “The Big Cheese”. The mixtape was a huge success, gaining fame worldwide. But it was the single released right before this mixtape that gained notoriety around the planet, called “Mr. Steal Your Girl”.

He has been nominated for 13 Grammies, and a total of 27 other awards including the
Grand Prix du Disque, the Silver Clef, the Youtube Music Award, the MTV Africa Music Awards. However, he has not won a single award, allegedly due to his controversial lyrics which have dealt with topics such as oppression, LGBT rights, freedom of speech, and totalitarianism around the world. Despite this, he continues to persevere.

After the sudden and rather unexpected rise to fame, Mr. Cheese ran into trouble with the law. He was arrested numerous times for racketeering, petty theft, and even a small bank robbery. He spent 2-3 years in prison and learned to act up.

But Biggie was not forgotten in prison. The moment he was released, Paramount Pictures decided to feature Mr. Cheese in one of their upcoming films, “Barnyard”.

This 2006 role gained him, even more, fame boosting Mr. Cheese to the top 10 richest rats in the world being $10 million behind Ratatouille and $15 million behind Stewart Little.
