I’ve been playing this game for almost 8 years now. I started playing a few days after the Uber Update. I’ve fought new players, pubstompers, cheaters, UGC Plat snipers, reserve shooter pyros, pro spies that could actually take up professional acting, you name it.

To this very day, I have yet to find a challenge as tough as Free to Play players who don’t even know what game they’re playing.

A tryhard bad-box conch soldier with a medic gf who refuses to heal ANYBODY else? Easy. Kill the medic and the soldier will run away. (like the little bitch he is)

UGC Plat pro snipers, or spinbotting snipers? Simple, the Vaccinator.

jesus.gomez2007? I have no fucking clue.

I have seen a new player miss 15 shots on a stationary heavy as sniper but when I decloak behind them they instantly turn around and headshot me.

I have seen new soldiers completely stand still firing rockets as they get ripped apart by sentry guns, and then 5 seconds later juggle someone to fucking MARS with like 6 airshots.

I have seen braindead pyros try and light people on fire with their flame thrower from 50+ feet away yet no matter what every time I leave spawn they spontaneously manifest behind me with full phlog

New players are true chaotic. They can’t be placed on a traditional D&D alignment chart. Being “Chaotic Good/Neutral/Evil” implies there is SOME method to the madness. Some pattern. Some rule. If there was such a position for new players, it’d be “Chaotic Chaotic”. No good, no evil, no neutral. Pure chaos. The morality equivalent to TV static.

I often attempt to recall memories from my early years. July 2011 – September 2011, specifically, in hopes of absorbing this chaotic energy. This… power, of sorts. I try to recollect, I try to memorize, but everything before October of 2011 is a mess of fire, W keys, and mouse 1. I don’t think this is something one can harness, this power. I believe it is one that is given to new players, as a welcoming gift. An insurmountable power which is slowly taken away from them, when they learn, and become whole. When their personality, playstyle, and preferences are formed, it comes at the cost of the Old Powers.
