Let me start by saying that I am an absolute Del Taco fan. I go to their OG Barstow location whenever I have the chance, I eat DT a minimum of 5-7 times a month and love it so much that my birthday gifts from friends are a usually gift cards to DT or wrapped in DT bags lol.

I have been going to this particular location for 5 years. Besides them forgetting an item once, I have not had any problems. Love the staff, foods been great…. until a couple weeks ago.

I ordered delivery through their app and started enjoying my meal. As I was about to take my next bite of the Macho Burrito, I see something glimmer. I thought it was a piece of foil, but as I continued to stare at it, I realized it was a screw!

I reached out to their customer service and told them I just want someone from the store to understand that this was unacceptable and they need to do a better job of watching for loose screws on shelving or no placing a screw somewhere where it could fall into the food.

I thought I was done, but what pissed me off is that I got a call a few days later from the store. The dude is mumbling, saying ‘I guess you found something in a…. burrito? But are you sure it was our store? Not sure …mumble’ if I could bleep out the personal cell number he said to call him back on, I would upload it here. It was just a WTF moment. What was the purpose of calling me and leaving that message??

I wasnt asking for anything but for them to watch their shit better. Hell, I didn’t even request a partial refund on the $30 of food I bought that day! Just so disappointed.

TLDR; Del Taco broke my heart after they tried to break my teeth with a screw. Lol

Edit: they sent me a $5 coupon that can only be used at that location lol
