The history of the vampire is a rich one indeed. As we all know, it originated in the transylvanian section of romania. The locals in the town would hear dead bodies make moaning noises, which was just natural gas escaping, but they did not know that back then, so they thought they were alive and stabbed them. This let the air trapped inside escape through the wound and stop it, so that enabled the belief that ‘stabbing’ the ‘undead vampires’ with a stake stopped them. Vampires were disproven with science, but managed to catch on with the international public. Later, famous authors made books about them, revolving around the character dracula. This later led to the romanticization of vampires through narrative.
