First of all, I just need to provide context. I’m a very smart student, IQ of 170 (proof if needed). I got through high school without having to take tests because my teachers understood the situation I was in. I already had a job lined up out of high school. (In business, no connections with parents either).

Anyways, I am boycotting all finals during my time at Iowa State. I feel like as someone with a high IQ and a job already lined up, it’s important to realize my special situation. Taking an F means nothing. I have passed all my current classes so far, all 100%’s, including most classes above that (I email my teachers on how to receive extra credit, it’s too easy. Just write a 5 page research paper about the current topic).

Finals mean nothing to me. It’s easy to understand the material, and a final “test” to prove I know it all does not make sense. My IQ already defines me and not my GPA. I already had 4-5 offers after the career fair as a Sophomore. I had to reject them all to let my fellow students have opportunities
