Over 100,000 years ago, these super pretentious aliens called the forerunners built these giant ring-worlds known as halos. The ring-worlds were designed to kill all sentient life in the galaxy as a way to starve out an ancient space-faring zombie parasite called the flood. The forerunners activated the rings and wiped the galaxy clean, but they had made preparations and made sure life would continue on after the firing of the rings. Fast forward to 2525, humanity has mastered faster-than-light travel and has colonies across the stars. As a part of a secret black op project to create the perfect rebellion crushing soldier, the Spartans, genetically and mechanically enhanced super soldiers clad in strength, speed, and reflex amplifying power armor, encounter a theocratic alliance of alien species known as the Covenant. The Covenant worship the long-dead forerunners as gods and believe finding and activating the halos will propel them to salvation and eternal paradise. Seeing the danger humanity could pose with their fledgling interstellar empire, the Covenant begins to attack human colonies. The human-Covenant war had begun. Fast forward again to 2552, and planet Reach, the seat of the United Earth Government’s military industrial complex and humanity’s second best-kept secret, is discovered by the Covenant. Some of the fiercest fighting of the human-Covenant war takes place here, but Reach eventually falls. As the Covenant sets fire to the planet, a Halcyon-class cruiser named the Pillar of Autumn flees the planet carrying a most precious cargo; The Master Chief, the greatest and maybe even last of the Spartan super soldiers, and Cortana, the most advanced A.I. Ever created. These two together could be the key to winning this god-forsaken war once and for all. This is just goes to right before the beginning of Halo 1, so, if this interested you and you wanna know more, go play the games for yourself!
