I had a very awkward meeting with Mrs. ******* right after my lunch duty. She was concerned about a parent email to her, about me ,and wanted to know if I was aware of something that was occurring during my classes.

I struggled to figure out what I could have said or done in the past couple of days to warrant such an email and was at a loss. Mrs. ******* then pulled up the email on her phone…

…and made me aware that my students had created an Instagram page…about me…and that someone’s mother had sent her a screenshot of said Instagram page. Someone’s mother.

I have several perspectives about this:

1. I am not a social media person and refrain from almost all forms.
2. I do not want or intend to have a social media presence. Unless it leads to internet fame. Which leads to millions of…no billions of dollars. Why not billions? This is all conjecture ( I am using conjecture instead of hypothetical to keep the option of making trillions of dollars open – diction) anyways. Ok, quadrillions.
3. What would my children say if they saw what you were posting for the world to see about me?
4. I thought all of you had iPhones? Those pictures are so grainy. You should be ashamed of yourselves for such horrible pictures. And the angles are all wrong.
5. Many of you used your actual names for your Instagram accounts?!? Hasn’t anyone ever had a conversation with you about internet safety? This is concerning.

So, please stop. I already have quintillions
