I went to a small metal gig. I thought it would be something hardcore, maybe with some people who actually try to fight the establishment. Just for kicks. Anyways, there was two guys doing the hair rolling thing, then they had to stop, a middle aged mom with her kid (who had some earplugs), and an assorted crowd of older people, and very few young ones. Did we pass the hey-day for this?

And also, the guy singing was mostly just incoherent screaming, then eventually he got on the floor and kicked a coconut.

Maybe it’s not my type of deal, maybe it was because it was a small gig, but god I thought the anti-establishment culture would be more than a man-child screaming and some older folks faintly nodding to the music.
