“CONGRESS, Max! The United States Congress. Max, Molly, Big Perk, I just don’t know where to start. You got the Senate on this side holding up any meaningful stimulus and you’ve got the House – the DEMOCRAT-led House – on the other side refusing to even have a vote on a modern healthcare system! The United States Senate is the most powerful deliberative group in the world, it has long favored the less densely-populated parts of the country and it’s been a bulwark of resistance to modern liberal overtures, we get all of that, Max, but now the Republican Party is supposed to be the party of the people. Where is the populism, Max? How can you be the party of populism and withhold the thing the people need?? Let me be very clear about this: $600 addition to the earlier $1200 does not compare favorably to the payroll and salary backstops in EVERY OTHER DEVELOPED NATION in the world.

And the DEMOCRATS! Oh, Molly, don’t let me get thrown off this show – O Lawd, don’t let me get thrown off this show. It’s pandemic, Max. Big Perk, it’s a pandemic! How can you suppress a vote for the same type of healthcare system that every other developed nation – and a lot of other ones – have in the middle of a pandemic when the people need it the most?? Medicare for All is broadly popular in America – accepted among many conservatives and wildly popular among liberals. And we can’t even vote?? Can’t even VOTE?? They know it won’t pass the Senate, Max. Molly, they KNOW it won’t become a law. There’s something STINKS to HIGH HEAVEN going on in the nation’s capital. SOMEbody doesn’t want to go on record and have to choose between the American people and the big checkbooks of the pharmaceutical donors all along K Street. And these are the DEMOCRATS, MAX!! (Head in hands. Exhales.) I just don’t know.”
