I’ve had him for years. When I was 10, I really wanted a dog, but my mom is allergic so my parents settled on getting me a pet helicopter. When I got it didn’t fly or do anything. To get it to do stuff, you needed a separate kit that was kind of expensive. Fast forward 4 years, I still have my (immobile) pet helicopter and I have started to ask for money because I’m really bored with it, though thinking back it was kind of fun to sit in. It’s the end of school, and I’m with my friends. I jokingly ask for money and one of them says that he’ll give me money if I ask my crush out. I jokingly say yes, because I’m not dumb enough to actually do it. Later that day when I’m at home, I look over at my pet helicopter and imagine what it would be like to pull up to high school on it. I think to myself, “it can’t be that bad to ask out [redacted] for some money. I’ll get the money necessary to buy the kit and my crush might even say yes.” I decide to do it. [I ask out my crush](https://www.reddit.com/r/teenagers/comments/brjxxs/first_experience_being_friend_zoned_and_i_did_it/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share) which goes pretty bad, but I still have the money to buy the kit. Over this summer, I buy the kit and install it. I finally finish the installation process by the end of summer and can’t wait to show off my working pet helicopter. The first day of high school comes and me in my helicopter with it. I think I’m really cool and students look up at me in amazement. I even get some fist bumps. While I’m in the middle of class, my name is called over the intercom. I’m asked to report to the principal’s office where I am told my pet helicopter just got run over by a black 2016 Honda Civic EX (with Honda Sensing) sedan. I run home in tears.
