Which tf2 mercs have autism from an autistic person who’s hyperfixating on the game

1) Heavy. Heavy is shown to have very strong attachments to his guns, he names them and notices when someone touches them. He also is very loud. Autistic people can struggle with understanding our noise level and will sometimes yell without meaning to. He speaks about himself in third person at times. He has vocal stims in several voicelines in the game. There’s a voiceline that just gives me autism vibes from him as well. “Oh hohoho, that slaps me on knee!”

2) soldier. soldier has vocal stims in the meet the spy video, takes things literally, doesn’t understand social cues, has issues with volume control, and has rigid interests. (america, patriotism.) soldier is very blunt, speaks in a mostly monotone tone of voice, and misunderstands metaphors and social cues. if you pay attention to soldier in the meet the spy and expiration date videos, you’ll see a lot of autistic signs. In meet the spy he has vocal stims (saying “huthuthuthut” with every step) and takes everything very literally.

3) sniper. sniper is uncomfortable with crowds and loud noises. he displays low empathy in the meet the sniper video, saying he doesn’t have feelings. he isolates himself from everyone and chooses to live in his camper van.
if you look at some of his Halloween related voice-lines, sniper gets overstimulated. Specifically, “It’s too much!” and “the magic’s all around me!” it sounds like sniper is having a meltdown due to overstimulation, especially when you consider how loud tf2 games are with all the bullet noises.

4) Pyro. Pyro stims. a lot. they’re very expressive with their body, clapping or wiggling after a partner taunt. Pyro also has an emotional attachment to their balloonicorn. autistic people commonly have comfort items, stuffed animals or little trinkets that bring us feelings of comfort and safety. we have strong emotional attachments to those items. Pyro bounces, wiggles, and moves around a lot. Their mask muffles sound, so they don’t get overstimulated on the battlefield. Pyro is seen as “childish” and “stupid” due to pyrovision and the taunts they have. They have several taunts such as the pool party, party trick, and ballonibouncer that make them seem “childish.” autistic people can often be seen as childish due to stimming, attachment to inanimate objects, and liking “childish” things such as cartoons.

that’s it! those are all the mercs i think are autistic. i am a diagnosed autistic person who’s been hyperfixated on tf2 since august 2022. i also think pyro, scout, and possibly soldier & demo have ADHD, but this post was specifically autism related because it has consumed my brain.
did i miss any? disagree with someone on the list? lemme know, i love to talk about this 😀
