To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand the Rick and Morty copypasta. The humor is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of meme cross-pollination most of the jokes will go over a typical reader’s head. There’s also the copypasta’s total lack of self-awareness, which is deftly woven into it’s many pseudo-intellectual sentences – it’s style draws heavily from the Navy Seal and Harry Potter copypastas, for instance. The true /co/poster understands this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these references, to realize that they’re not just funny- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike the Rick and Morty copypasta truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn’t appreciate, for instance, the humour in the pasta’s existencial catchphrase “What fools… how I pity them,” which itself is a cryptic reference to a smug redditor’s epic facebook post. I’m smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated summerfags scratching their heads in confusion as the anon who posted the pastas’s genius unfolds itself on their iPhone screens. What fools… how I pity them. And yes by the way, I DO have a Rick and Morty copypasta tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. It’s for the ladies’ eyes only- And even they have to demonstrate that they too have a 4chan Gold pass, and are within 500,000 shitposts of my own (preferably lower) beforehand.
