So if I’m not mistaken I’ve been on this “stage” before.

I really can’t believe id be brought back to this moment in my life but indeed after some investigating (thanks James) I could pinpoint the location of this place and it is indeed the place.

It was 2011 I believe and I was the replacement vocalist for this metal band by the name of “WarheaD” (super edgy capitalized last letter I know). We had done a couple of open shows and battle of the bands and had picked up a bit of heat and radio play on the independent satellite stations which was awesome for a 16-17 year old me who was thoroughly enjoying performing.

Well one day it comes to our attention that we got this invitation to play at this “address” and we all of course agree and drive out to what really is bum fuck no where from where we are headquartered which is PG county, Md. There was a title for this event and while I cant remember it off hand it was definitely cringy.

So we pull up to this HOUSE, and I say that in capitals because its a huge house in a neighborhood of huge houses and immediately we all kindof have mixed feelings. We aren’t the only band either. If I remember correctly there was at least one other band and a DJ that was performing his dub mixes and what not.
The child of the people who own the house is very nice and inviting, he shows us to this basement area of his house that is out staging/equipment area. Theres a pool and a pretty expansive backyard area where KIDS, like 5 year old kids are congregating and merrymaking and shit. On the other side of the backyard is what looks like a full fledged family get together full with family friends and unfamiliar faces which was all super awkward for us because it was like three different events mashed into one. None metalheads either. The guy had his group of friends but nobody congregated with us and nonetheless it was just weird smear of people.

Well either way we do our “set”, this kid goes crazy for us and according to his mom he apparently listens to us all the time and was intensely obsessed with out EP. I remember the mom saying at one point “I thought you guys were like, professionals” or something along those lines and I didnt really know how to take that lol. While I had passion for the band and the music I did not consider myself established by any right and the fact this kid held this event at his crib like that and literally had his friends and mostly family as an audience absolutely left a strange impression on me. Definitely cringy.

It was an experience to say the least. These folks were totally in their own bubble.
