This essay was written in response to a query posited on a TV show I was watching, and the writers proposed that it was an anthropomorphic sponge and his anthropomorphic friends, one of which is an octopus called “Squidward” that lives under the sea. I found the portrayal of underwater life to be highly unrealistic–not only due to the aforementioned, but also the fact that they drink water underwater and also eat human food. Therefore, this essay will answer the question: who lives in a pineapple under the sea?

The first thing we have to realize is that statistically, multiple pineapples have likely fallen into the sea, and there’s a probability that a sea sponge may have found itself drifting towards one. However, we must also realize that we have no recorded incident of such event happening, even though it is statistically very likely.

The second thing we have to recognize is that pineapples grow on trees, things you can only grow on land. Whilst on the island we see in the opening of the show, we see a tree, it is not a pine tree.

Taking everything into account, the probability of a pineapple falling into the sea is highly unlikely.
