Title says it all. I at one point had Vegas Pro 13 and Music Maker installed on my computer. I have since uninstalled both products, yet I continue to get advertising pop-ups telling me to buy the new version of Music Maker.

I believe that this shows that these programs install malicious adware on a user’s system when they are installed. This malicious adware is not contained within the program files, but is rather a separate program installed elsewhere on the hard drive. I believe this to be illegal.

Does anyone else have experience with this? I am currently attempting to root out where this malicious adware is located, and once I have, I will be contacting a lawyer to determine what actions are available to me. This is a violation of many consumer protection laws, and likely opens the VEGAS team up to lawsuits. I will be determining whether or not to file an individual lawsuit or a class action lawsuit based on the feedback I receive from this thread.

And to any VEGAS employees reading this thread, I encourage you to start seeking other employment, as your employer is likely to undergo significant financial struggles as a result of this lawsuit. This is pretty much a slam-dunk case. Installing malicious adware in hidden files on a user’s computer violates so many different laws that I’m honestly not sure how you thought you could get away with it.
