Oh my God! Did you see the news this mornin’, Jebediah? Hundreds are dead here in our home state, the “OK” state, the great state of Oklahoma! How could this have happened?! Who could have predicted this colossal tragedy on this muggy, moist, windy day in our own state?! How could we have seen this coming in the great state of Oklahoma, one notorious state among a few located in the dead center of Tornado Alley?! I can’t fathom that this happened to the majestic state of Oklahoma, whose rare beauty is so fleeting and temporary that it has to be rebuilt from the underground up each and every year after a new fresh hell descends upon its completely unknowing citizens!!! Oh God, God in the sky, if you would have just given us Oklahomans a sign! Just one sign that this specific region of the United States might be in the crosshairs of black, wrathful, Lovecraftian devastation time and time again! Maybe then I could have moved me and my now-half-gone family somewhere, anywhere else where this recurring event isn’t a constant and a given! What was I supposed to do?! Oh Lord, why have the skies taken my childhood home away from me? I remember it like it was yesterday… The ice cream store, the cellar, the pa__ (formerly called the “park” until a dang ‘ol twister gone and blown half of it to shreds — glad those are but a seldom commodity ’round these parts!), the school, the cellar… all gone thanks to them nope ropes from heaven!

Maybe it will be all right. “There yain’t nothin’ that’ll kill ya that’ll ain’t make ya stronger” Norman 16: 10-11. Despite all this fear in ma hart, the losses we’s a-suffered, I think things will turn out all right. I squint outside (it’s hard to see with glass in one of my eyes) real close like through the hole in my wall (formerly my window, that’s where the glass came from) and see a glimmer-a-hope. Then I take the glass out of my eye and it hurts real bad and the glimmer is gone because it was just light reflecting off of the stray piece that found its new home inside my cornea. But that’s b’sides my point! I look outside and just like the glimmer, literally everything is fucking gone. But ain’t that just something! It’s a whole new empty canvas for the next generation! It’s sights like these that make me wanna raise some chillun’ in a wide, free place like this, the great state of Oklahoma! C’mere Jebediah, we got some babyin’ ta do!
