The general framework of my beliefs is Tendai Buddhism, but I eschew adhering to just one religion or one denomination in favor of incorporating wisdom and spiritual practices from several eclectic sources. I venerate four main Bodhisattvas in my practice: Ganesha as the Bodhisattva of spiritual wealth and abundance, Avalokiteshvara as a being and embodiment of pure compassion for all beings, his wife Tara as the many-aspected liberator and protector of equality and women’s rights, and Amitabha as a savior figure, who I trust will bring me to the Pure Land upon my death where I can journey easily towards enlightenment and towards helping all beings just alike the Bodhisattvas I venerate and admire do for us in their boundless wisdom and compassion. I have also been seeking for several months now to have an out-of-body experience or an astral projection, which I believe is something that lies within our own minds and is not actually a voyage to another realm, but nevertheless is a deep and powerful tool for spiritual growth, and a blissful experience of the sacred energies(perhaps Buddha-nature, perhaps just an impermanent force that nevertheless helps us transcend the illusion of this conditioned existence) that lie within all of us. While I have not yet succeeded in this endeavor, I continue to work towards this experience, to voyage into the Astral realm that lies within our minds and to meet Amitabha(or perhaps just our own aformentioned sacred energies manifesting themselves in the shape of Amitabha) there, to learn from my savior Buddha, and to further progress my spiritual journey. I admire many of the practices and some of the teachings of Sanatanadharma, but am irritated on their insistence(the Advaita school) of referring to the Tathagatagharba by the name of “self”. While believing that Kundalini is a real phenomenon(perhaps related to various hormonal glands in the body), I believe it is dangerous and have no intention of working with it, except to perhaps try to open my third eye to have a mystical experience like it is said to bring, though I believe this to be distinct from the Kundalini serpent itself. I believe that the God of the Abrahamic religions is a deva and bodhisattva(albeit perhaps not a Mahasattva) who was willingly reborn here on Earth as Jesus Christ to teach the often warlike ancient peoples a message of peace and acceptance, a message that has been lost to many. I think all religions can ultimately lead to spiritual awakening, but that some religions may be more effective in achieving this insight and enlightenment and that certain religions work better for certain people on their spiritual path, but that ultimately there is a sacred truth that has been discovered independently by many people in many cultures throughout the ages, and that Buddhism(perhaps because it was founded by the fully realized Siddhartha Gautama) was daring and powerful in straight up giving a lot of this message rather than integrating it into pre-existing structures and hoping others would follow the same steps to awakening.
